The Ultra HD has always been my favorite because of its size. The new Ultra HD is smaller and feels good in your hands. I was very shocked at how well the image stabilization worked. Controls on the Kodak Zi8 is nicely designed, giving it a sturdy feel. The control layout is very minimalistic in nature and isn’t difficult to figure out without reading the manual. You’ll find a Color LCD screen and simple control on the back, which uses four buttons and a five-way directional pad. A focus slider up top controls the shift from landscape to macro.
Playback is simple; you hit the playback button and then press the red controller to maneuver through the different clips you’ve captured. Although the controls make sense, we felt the red center joystick may need a little getting used to.

Kodak has designed, marketed, and built a camera to compete with FLiP and has clearly produced a FAR better product. I have read some issues with the internal Mic and I have had none of them, even without upgrading the firmware.
The video is great, image stability is better than anything i’ve seen in a FLiP or other Kodak model. Its SO easy to flip between video modes. The 1080p is awesome, but sometimes its nice to have the option to move back down to 720 and the 60fps to capture faster ‘action’ footage.
